On manufacturing turnover in December 2009

Compared to November 2009 manufacturing turnover1 at current prices (according to seasonally adjusted data2) in December 2009 decreased by 0.6%, of which in domestic market - by 5.2% and in exports there was a increase of 5.0%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau.

Most notable turnover reduction was recorded in manufacture of beverages – 19.9% (decrease in domestic market 14.1% and in exports - 36.2%), in manufacture of electrical equipment – 18.3% (decrease in domestic market 0.3%, in exports – 30.1%), in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (repair and maintenance of ships and boats, repair of fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, installation of industrial machinery and equipment) – 9.3% (decrease in domestic market 14.6%, and growth of 23.2% in exports).

But most significant increase of manufacturing turnover was observed in manufacture of basic metals – 41.6%, in manufacture of other transport equipment – 34.1% and in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products – 26.8%.

Compared to December 2008 industrial turnover in manufacturing (according to working day adjusted data) in December 2009 reduced by 16.6%, of which in domestic market – by 28.3% and in exports there was a growth of 4.4%.

Most notable decrease of manufacturing turnover was observed in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products – 49.2% ( reduction in domestic market 60.4%, in exports – 19.2%), in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (repair and maintenance of ships and boats, repair of fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, installation of industrial machinery and equipment) – 36.6% (decrease in domestic market 42.8% and in exports there was a growth of 20.2%) and in the manufacture of other transport equipment – 36%.

But most significant rise of manufacturing turnover was recorded in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – 38.1%, in manufacture of basic metals – 26.3%, and in manufacture of wood and cork articles, except furniture – 11.8%.

Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2009, manufacturing turnover in the 4th quarter of 2009, according to seasonally adjusted data, increased by 2.8%, of which in exports – by 9.6% and in domestic market there was a reduction of 2.4%.

Compared to the corresponding quarter of previous year, industrial turnover in manufacturing in the 4th quarter of 2009 decreased by 19.5% (according to working day adjusted data), of which in domestic market – by 29.3% and in exports – by 3.9%.

Compared to the corresponding period of previous year,industrial turnover in manufacturing in the January - December 2009 decreased by 27.2% (according to working day adjusted data), of which in domestic market – by 30.7% and in exports – by 21.9%.
