On manufacturing turnover in August 2011


The data of the Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to August 2010, manufacturing turnover (at current prices) in August 2011, according to calendar adjusted data, has increased by 10.4%, of which in domestic market – by 15.7% and in export – by 4.8%.The increase in manufacturing turnover mainly was influenced by three largest sub-sectors - manufacture of food products, wood processing and metalworking.

Significant growth (of 68.7%) was observed in manufacture of machinery and equipment (rise in domestic market comprised 12.3%, but in export the turnover increased 2.2 times), as well as in manufacture of other transport equipment (of 40.4%) (increase in both domestic market and export).

Compared to July 2011, manufacturing turnover (according to seasonally adjusted data) in August 2011 has decreased by 1.2%, of which in export - by 2.6% and in domestic market there was a growth of 0.2%.The reduction in manufacturing turnover was mainly influenced by the domestic market and export turnover drop in manufacture of food products, inmanufacture of other transport equipment (building of ships and boats, manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock), and in repair and installation of machinery and equipment.
