Last year the number of unemployed persons aged 15-74 comprised 120.4 thsd - 34.7 thsd persons or 22.4% less than a year ago.

Unemployment rate (share of unemployed persons in the total active population) accounted for 11.9%, and during the year it has dropped by 3.1 percentage points (in 2012 - 15.0%).

Almost a half (58.2 thsd or 48.4%) of unemployed in age group 15 to 74 years were long-term unemployed who are seeking job for 12 months and more. However, their number, compared to 2012, has decreased by 22.5 thsd persons or 27.9%.

Almost one fifth – 21.5 thsd of the total number of unemployed in 2013 were comprised by youth – unemployed aged 15 to 24 years, which is 25.5% less than in 2012. Share of youngsters – unemployed in the total number of economically active youth was 23.2%, which is 5.3 percentage points less than a year ago.
