On key indicators of structural business statistics in 2009
Central Statistical Bureau has compiled active business sector enterprise, including also self-employed natural persons, data on structural business statistics in 2009 by main kind of economic activity, covering following sectors - industry1, construction, trade and services2.
Value added produced by the enterprises in surveyed economic activities at constant prices in 2009 comprised LVL 4850 mln, of which highest share – LVL 2381 mln or 49.1% of total value added was formed by services. In industry and trade value added constituted LVL 1281 mln (26.3%) and LVL 809 mln (16.7%), respectively. But in construction it comprised LVL 379 mln or 7.8% of total volume.
Compared to 2008, enterprise value added in 2009 reduced by 35.7%, of which in construction - by 59.2%, in trade - by 55.4%, in industry - by 30.3%, in services - by 19.6%.

Expenditure structure of enterprises show that the highest share in it was formed by costs of purchase of goods and services – LVL 19133 mln or 80.3%. But personnel costs, in turn, constituted 12.0% (LVL 2851 mln) and gross capital investment in tangible assets – 7.7% (LVL 1847 mln).

Compared to 2008, in 2009 total costs of enterprises (at current prices) reduced by 34.5%: gross capital investment in tangible assets diminished by 58.3%, costs of purchase of goods and services – by 31.8%, and personnel costs – by 27.3%.
