In June retail trade turnover reduced by 0.8%

Data of Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to May, total retail trade turnover in June 2013 dropped by 0.8%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Retail trade in food products increased by 0.7%, whereas of non-food products decreased by 1.7%.

In comparison with May, total retail trade turnover at current prices, not considering the seasonality, in June of this year reduced by 0.9%. A year ago – in June 2012, compared to May, turnover grew by 3.7%.

Compared to June 2012, total retail trade turnover in June of this year rose by 4.6%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprised 2.7%, but in non-food commodity group – 5.9%, of which in retail sale of automotive fuel – 8.5%. Most rapid turnover increase in June was in retail sale of sporting equipment, games and toys in specialised stores – by 35.7% and in retail sale of furniture, lighting equipment and other household articles in specialised stores – by 35.2%.

In comparison with June of the previous year, total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 3.4% (not taking into account the calendar influence).

In the 2nd quarter of this year, as compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year, total retail trade turnover has grown by 6.0%, according to calendar adjusted data. Rise in food commodity group comprised 2.9%, but retail trade in non-food products has grown by 8.2%.

In the 1st half-year, as compared to the same period of the previous year, total retail trade turnover has grown by 6.4%, according to calendar adjusted data. Rise in food commodity group comprised 4.0%, but retail trade in non-food products has grown by 7.9%.
