In June producer prices in industry increased by 0.1%

Compared to May, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industry in June 2013 increased by 0.1%, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. The producer prices of products sold on the domestic market dropped by 0.4%, whereas prices of exported products grew by 0.6%. Largest price increase, mostly due to the price growth in sales of heat, was observed in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 1.6%) and manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (of 0.5%). The largest decreasing impact had price reduction in the manufacture of wood and wood products, except furniture (of 1.2%), manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (of 1.0%) and in the waste collection, treatment and disposal activities; materials recovery (of 1.2%).

In June 2013, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industry, compared to June of previous year, increased by 2.1%. The rise in prices of products sold on the domestic market comprised 1.1%, but prices of exported products rose by 3.1%. The major price increases were recorded in manufacture of food products (of 3.3%), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 2.2%) and manufacture of wood and products of wood, except of furniture (of 2.9%). Reduction of prices in waste collection, treatment and disposal activities; materials recovery (of 7.5%) had the biggest downward impact on the producer prices.
