In July, retail trade turnover grew by 3.9 %

Calendar adjusted data (at constant prices) compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to July 2016, in July 2017 the total retail trade turnover rose by 3.9 %. Turnover of retail trade in food products increased by 4.6 %, and turnover of retail trade in non-food products grew by 3.3 %.

The most significant turnover growth in non-food product group was recorded in retail sale of information and communication equipment (of 15.0 %), retail sale of hardware, paints and glass (14.4 %), retail sale of cultural and recreation goods (13.6 %), and retail sale of clothing and footwear (6.1 %).  In its turn, turnover drop was registered in retail sale of pharmaceutical and medical goods (of 4.3 %) as well as retail sale of automotive fuel (of 2.6 %).

The total retail trade turnover at current prices increased by 5.3 % (not taking into account the calendar influence).

Compared to June,in July 2017 retail trade turnover went up by 0.8 % (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices). Turnover of retail trade in food products grew by 0.4 %, while turnover of retail trade in non-food products rose by 0.9 %.

Growth in turnover was observed in retail sale via stalls and markets (of 3.0 %), retail sale of hardware, paints and glass (2.4 %), retail sale of information and communication equipment (2.3 %), as well as retail sale of automotive fuel (1.7 %).

Turnover decline, in its turn, was recorded in retail sale of cultural and recreation goods (of 9.7 %), retail sale in non-specialised stores with non-food products predominating (3.5 %), retail sale of pharmaceutical and medical goods (2.7 %), as well as retail sale of clothing and footwear (1.1 %).

Compared to June, in July 2017 the total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 2.8 % (not taking into account seasonality).
