Industrial production witnessed 2.8% growth in July

Latest data compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to June industrial production volume in July (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices) increased by 2.8%. Of which growth in manufacturing - 3.7%, and in electricity and gas supply - 0.5%; in turn, mining and quarrying witnessed a decline of 3.5%.

Compared to July 2014 industrial production volume in July 2015 (according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices) grew by 8.3%, of which in mining and quarrying – by 3.2% and in manufacturing – by 10.5%; in turn in electricity and gas supply there was a decrease of 0.6%.

The greatest production growth in July 2015, as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was registered in manufacture of basic metals. Significant production growth was also recorded in sectors having the largest share in industrial production: in wood processing - of 7.9%, and in manufacture of food products – of 4.6%.

In turn, production drop of 10.4% was registered in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products, of 6.1% in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, and of 4.5% in of manufacture of wearing apparel.
