Industrial production output in September 2011

In September 2011 industrial production output1 (at current prices) comprised LVL 418.7 million, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau.

In comparison with the previous month, industrial production volume in September grew by 1.2%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in manufacturing – by 2.1%, but in mining and quarrying there was a decrease of 0.4%, and in electricity and gas supply - of 0.8%. Most notable rise in manufacturing was observed in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – of 46.2%, in repair and installation of machinery and equipment – of 13.5%, and inmanufacture of electrical equipment – of 8.3%.

Compared to September 2010, industrial production output increased by 9.6%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in mining and quarrying – by 19.4%, in manufacturing - by 11%, and in electricity and gas supply - by 2.5%. Significant growth was recorded in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – of 79.4%, in manufacture of electrical equipment – of 76.5%, and in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – of 68.3%.

In comparison with the 2nd quarter, industrial production output in the 3rd quarter of 2011 increased by 2%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in mining and quarrying – by 17.2%, in manufacturing - by 1.1%, and in electricity and gas supply - by 0.5%.

Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2010, industrial production output rose by 8.3%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in mining and quarrying – by 16.4%, in manufacturing - by 9.3%, and in electricity and gas supply - by 3.1%.

In comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year, industrial production output in nine months of 2011 grew by 10.1%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in manufacturing– by 12.4%, in mining and quarrying - by 3.5%, and in electricity and gas supply - by 4.4%.

Industrial production volume in accordance with the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities NACE Rev. 2 includes mining and quarrying, manufacturing and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, except steam and air conditioning supply.
