04.12.2012

Data of the Central Statistical Bureau show that, in comparison with September 2012, industrial production volume in October 2012 reduced by 0.3%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in mining and quarrying by 6.2%, in electricity and gas supply - by 1.1%, whereas in manufacturing there was an increase of 0.3%.

Industrial production volume index
(2005=100)

Rise in manufacturing was mainly due to the growth in manufacture of food products – of 0.8%, in manufacture of fabricated metal products – of 3%, in manufacture of other transport equipment (building of ships and boats, manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock) - of 49%, and in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – of 22%. Whereas most notable reduction was recorded in manufacture of machinery and equipment – of 9.5%, in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (repair and maintenance of ships and boats, repair of fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, installation of industrial machinery and equipment) – 7.2%, and in manufacture of non-metallic mineral products – of 6.8%.

Compared to October of previous year, industrial production output in October 2012 increased by 3.1%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in manufacturing by 5.3%, while in mining and quarrying as well as in electricity and gas supply there was a decrease of 9.8% and 2.8%, respectively. Growth in manufacturing was mainly due to the increase in manufacture of basic metals, manufacture of food products and manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations. Highest rise in manufacturing was observed in manufacture of other transport equipment – 2.1 times, in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products - of 34.7%, and in manufacture of basic metals - of 29.5%. Whereas most significant reduction was recorded in repair and installation of machinery and equipment – of 10.3%, in manufacture of machinery and equipment – of 7.1%, and in manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment – of 3.2%.
