In October 2011 industrial production output1 (at current prices) comprised LVL 423.6 mln, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau.

In comparison with September 2011, industrial production output in October 2011 (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices) has reduced by 0.9%, of which in manufacturing – by 0.9%, in mining and quarrying – by 0.4% and in electricity and gas supply – by 0.7%.
Compared to October of previous year, industrial production output in October 2011 (according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices) has increased by 5.1%. Of which in mining and quarrying by 15.9%, in manufacturing by 5.9%, and in electricity and gas supply by 0.5%. The increase in manufacturing mainly was influenced by two largest sub-sectors - wood processing and metalworking.
The most notable industrial output rise in manufacturing was observed in manufacture of electrical equipment – of 64.2%, in manufacture of machinery and equipment – of 41.2%, and in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – of 37.7%. The most notable output reduction, in turn, was recorded in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – of 25.3%, in manufacture of beverages – of 16.0%, and in manufacture of other transport equipment (building of ships and boats, manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock) – of 15.9%.

Industrial production volume in accordance with the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities NACE Rev. 2 includes mining and quarrying, manufacturing and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, except steam and air conditioning supply.
