Industrial production output in March 2010

In March 2010 industrial production output1 (at current prices) comprised LVL 329.8 mln, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau.

Compared to February 2010 industrial production volume in March 2010 has grown by 9.9%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in manufacturing – by 12.2%, in mining and quarrying – by 9%, and in electricity and gas supply - by 0.2%.

Compared to March of previous year industrial production output in March 2010 has increased by 11.4%, according to working day adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in manufacturing - by 11.1%, in mining and quarrying – by 9.0%, and in electricity and gas supply - by 12.9%.

Compared to the 4th quarter of 2009, industrial production output according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices in 1st quarter of 2010 reduced by 0.3%.Of which in manufacturing – by 1.8%, but growth in mining and quarrying comprised 8.4% and in electricity and gas supply – 5.4%.

Compared to the corresponding quarter of previous year, industrial production output according to working day adjusted data at constant prices in 1st quarter of 2010 rose by 7.4%.Of which in manufacturing – by 4.7%, in mining and quarrying comprised – by 4.9% and in electricity and gas supply – by 17%.

1 Data are compiled on economically active enterprises, which in industrial production employ 20 and more persons, or in which industrial turnover previous year exceeded LVL 300 thsd.
Industrial production volume in accordance with the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities NACE 2.rev. includes Mining and quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, except steam and air conditioning supply.
2 The influence of varying number of working days in the month and factors of seasonal repetition, i.e., seasonal fluctuations of goods produced in selected economic activities, has been eliminated.
