Industrial production output in July 2011

In July 2011 industrial production output1 (at current prices) comprised LVL 384.3 mln, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau.

Compared to June 2011 industrial production volume in July 2011 has grown by 0.6%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in manufacturing – by 0.7%, in electricity and gas supply - by 0.9%, but in mining and quarrying there was a decrease of 3.9%. The most notable growth of industrial production was observed in manufacture of wearing apparel - by 12.9%, in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – by 7.7% and in manufacture of basic metals – by 5.5%. Whereas a major decrease was observed in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – by 29.1%, in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – by 21.3% and in manufacture of textiles - by 7%.

Compared to July of the previous year, industrial production output in July 2011 at constant prices has increased by 9.2%, according to calendar adjusted data. Of which in mining and quarrying – by 5.1%, in manufacturing - by 10.8%, and in electricity and gas supply - by 5%. The most notable rise in manufacturing was recorded in manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment – by 36.6%, in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – by 30.3% and in manufacture of electrical equipment – 26.4%. Whereas a major decrease was observed in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – by 18.7%, in manufacture of textiles - by 14.8% and in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations - by 7.3%.
