Industrial production output in February 2012

In February 2012 industrial production output1 (at current prices) comprised LVL 419.9 million, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau.

In comparison with January 2012, industrial production output in February 2012 (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices) has increased by 0.1%, of which in electricity and gas supply by 5.7%, whereas in manufacturing there was a reduction of 2.4% and in mining and quarrying - of 10.5%.
Compared to February of previous year, industrial production output in February 2012 (according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices) has grown by 7.3%. Of which in mining and quarrying by 7.8%, in manufacturing by 10.6%, and in electricity and gas supply by 2.2%.
Most notable rise in the manufacturing sector was recorded in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (repair and maintenance of ships and boats, repair of fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, installation of industrial machinery and equipment) – 2.3 times, as well as in manufacture of other transport equipment (building of ships and boats, manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock) – of 69.9%, and in manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment - of 43.3%. While reduction was observed in manufacture of wearing apparel – of 10.3%, in manufacture of rubber and plastic products – of 6.4%, in manufacture of textiles – of 4.7%, as well as in manufacture of food products – of 1.5%.
