Industrial production in November grew by 0.2 %

Data compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia show that, compared to October, industrial production volume in November 2015 (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices) increased by 0.2 %. Of which rise in manufacturing comprised 0.7 %, and in electricity and gas supply – 1.1 %, while in mining and quarrying there was a reduction of 7.8 %.

As compared to November 2014, industrial production in November 2015 (according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices) grew by 4.3 %; of which in manufacturing – by 3.8 %, and in electricity and gas supply – by 7.6 %, whereas in mining and quarrying there was a drop of 8.5 %.

The most notable growth in November, as compared to the corresponding period of the year before, was recorded in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products – of 34.7 %, in manufacture of furniture – of 19.9 %, in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – of 13.2 %, and in manufacture of wood and of products of wood – of 6.6 %.

Whereas drop in production volume, as compared to November 2014, was observed in manufacture of electrical equipment – 18.8 %, in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – of 11.3 %, in manufacture of wearing apparel – of 10.1 %, as well as in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products – of 7.7 %.
