Industrial production drops 1.7% in November

Latest data compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to October industrial production volume in November 2014 (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices) declined  by 1.7%. Of which industrial production in manufacturing decreased by 2%, while in mining and quarrying it grew by 3%, and in electricity and gas supply - by 1.2%.

Compared to November 2013, industrial production in November 2014 declined by 0.9%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices; the fall was mainly due to the drop in manufacturing (of 3.8%). Growth, in turn, was observed in mining and quarrying - of 4.3%, and in electricity and gas supply - of 9.1%.

The largest manufacturing production drop was observed in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (repair and maintenance of ships and boats, repair of fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, installation of industrial machinery and equipment) – of 32.7%, in manufacture of beverages – of 26.2%, in manufacture of textiles - of 16%, and in manufacture of wearing apparel - of 14.2%. Decline was also registered in manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment - of 8.7%, and in manufacture of food products - of 3.5%.

The most notable growth in industrial production was recorded in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products – of 73.5%, in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – of 6.5%, in manufacture of furniture - of 5.6%, and in manufacture of wood and of products of wood - of 3.7%.
