Industrial output in February 2008

03.04.2008

Compared to January 2007, industrial production output1 in February 2008 at constant prices, i.e., considering the influence of the price changes, has increased by 1.3%, according to the seasonally adjusted data (the influence of the season and working days has been taken into account) of the Central Statistical Bureau. Of which in mining and quarrying there was an increase of 4.3%, in manufacturing of 1.5%, but electricity, gas and water supply decreased by 6.8%.

Compared to February of previous year, in February 2008 industrial production output according to working day adjusted data has decreased by 4.7%. Of which in manufacturing there was a decrease of 1%, in electricity, gas and water supply of 10%, but in mining and quarrying the volume increased by 31.4%.

2 The influence of the factors of various number of working days in the month and seasonal repetition had been averted, i.e., seasonal fluctuations of production volume in selected fields (e.g., annual summer leaves, milk production increase during the pasture season, production of preserved fruit and vegetables related to the yield season, heat production in the heating season). This indicator has been calculated only for the comparison with previous period.

3 The influence of changing number of working days in the month has been averted. This indicator has been calculated only for the comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year.
