Industrial output in December 2006

Compared to December of the previous year, industrial production output in December 2006 rose by 3,2% according to seasonally adjusted data of the Central Statistical Bureau. There was an increase of 4,6% in manufacturing and decreases of 3,2% in mining and quarrying and decrease of 1,3% in electricity, gas and water supply.

Compared with December of the previous year, production output of food products and beverages in December this year increased by 3,4 %. There were decreases in the following activities: 22,4% in the processing and preserving of fish and fish products, 1,7% in the manufacture of other food products (bread, confectionery, sugar), 21,2% in the processing and preserving of fruit and vegetables. An increase, in turn, could be observed in the following sub-sectors: 11,9% in the manufacture of grain mill products, starch and starch products and 10.6% in the manufacture, processing and preservation of meat and meat products, 20,7% in the manufacture of beverages and 7,8% in the manufacture of milk products.

Compared with December of the previous year, the production output in December 2006 increased in fallowing sectors:

The decreases in production output were 20,3% in steel production, 5,9% in the manufacture of wood and of articles of wood, 2,3% in the manufacture of furniture, 1,3% in the manufacture of machinery and equipment.

Production output in December in comparison with November 2006 increased by 2.5%. Of this, 3% was observed in mining and quarrying, 1.3% in manufacturing, 7% in electricity, gas and water supply.
