With the help of this method the information on turnover during longer period of time is mathematically analysed, and regular increases or decreases of indicators in certain time periods are excluded (e.g., the turnover increase in December in relation to Christmas shopping and subsequent decrease in January, long and short months, etc.) i.e., shopping in December and January are considered to be the same as in other months, but in long and short months the number of working days is adjusted. Mentioned method allows evaluating the trends observed in the sector. With the use of method of seasonal adjustment, compared to November, in December 2007 retail trade turnover has reduced by 2.6%. It has decreased in almost all sectors. Slight decrease was recorded only in retail trade enterprises selling textiles, clothing, and footwear and leather ware.
