Gross domestic product in 1st quarter of 2007 increased by 11.2%

Compared to the corresponding period of previous year, gross domestic product (GDP) in 1st quarter of 2007 increased by 11.2%, according to the Central Statistical Bureau.

The increase in GDP was due to the rises in the following sectors: trade (share in GDP structure –23.1%) – by 15.7%, in the sector of business services (15.3%) – by 10.4%, in manufacturing (11.8%) – by 2.4%, in transport and communications (11.3%) - by 7.6%, in construction (5.6%) – by 17.0%.
