GDP flash estimate: growth in the 3rd quarter comprises 4.2%
Flash estimate developed by the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia (CSB) shows that, compared to the 3rd quarter of 2012, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) value (seasonally non-adjusted data) in the 3rd quarter of 2013 has increased by 4.2%. The upward pressure on the GDP value was applied by the increase in manufacturing (of 2.5%), retail trade (of 3%) and construction (of 10%).
In comparison with the 3rd quarter of 2012, rise in the services sectors comprised on average 8%, while collected taxes on products, e.g., value added tax and excise tax, have grown by 6%.
Seasonally adjusted data indicate that, compared to the 2nd quarter of 2013, GDP in the 3rd quarter of 2013 has grown by 1.2%.
