Foreign trade of Latvia in September 2010

In September 2010 the total foreign trade turnover at current prices reached 1008.3 mln lats – more by 7.7% or 71.7 mln lats than a month before and more by 30.5% or 235.6 mln lats than in September 2009, according to provisional data of Central Statistical Bureau.

In January – September 2010 foreign trade turnover value reached 7422.4 mln lats – more by 22.3% or 1351.2 mln lats than in the same period of last year. Of which exports value comprised 3329.1 mln lats – more by 28.7% or 743.0 mln lats, but imports value comprised 4093.3 mln lats – more by 17.5% or 608.2 mln lats than a year ago.

In the 3rd quarter of 2010 exportsvalue reached 1261.2 mln lats – more by 12.4% or 139.3 mln lats than in the 2nd quarter, but imports value comprised 1558.5 mln lats – more by 15.4% or 207.4 mln lats.

In September 2010 the most significant share in Latvia’s export had export to the countries of European Union (69.8%), followed by the export to CIS countries – 14.5%. Main export partners were Lithuania (17.6% of total export), Estonia (11.7%), Russia (10.2%), Germany (8.6%) and Poland (6.2%).

In September 2010 the most significant share in Latvia’s import had import from the countries of European Union (75.5%), followed by the import from CIS countries – 13.4%. Main import partners were Lithuania (18.3% of total import), Germany (11.6%), Russia (7.8%), Poland (7.7%) and Estonia (7.0%).
