Foreign trade of Latvia in June 2011

In June 2011, the total foreign trade turnover at current prices comprised LVL 1056.8 million – 7.9% or LVL 91.2 million less than in the previous month, but 28.7% or LVL 235.6 million more than in June 2010, according to provisional data of the Central Statistical Bureau.

In January – June 2011, foreign trade turnover value reached 6225.7 mln lats – 35.3% or 1624.4 mln lats more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Of which the export value comprised LVL 2826.4 million – an increase of 36.9% or LVL 761.8 million, whereas the import value constituted LVL 3399.3 million – 34.0% or LVL 862.6 million more than a year ago.

In June 2011, the most significant share in Latvia’s export had export to the countries of the European Union (70.2%), followed by export to the CIS countries – 15.7%. The main export partners were Lithuania (17.7% of total export), Estonia (13.7%), Russia (11.3%), Germany (7.7%) and Sweden (6.1%).

In June 2011, the most significant share in Latvia’s import had import from the countries of the European Union (76.5%), followed by import from the CIS countries – 14.8%. The main import partners were Lithuania (20.3% of total import), Germany (12.9%), Poland (7.7%), Russia (6.6%) and Belarus (6.4%).
