Foreign trade of Latvia in June 2010

In June 2010 the total foreign trade turnover at current prices reached 812.7 mln lats – 1.5% or 12.6 mln lats less than a month before and 22.6% or 149.9 mln lats more than in June 2009, according to provisional data of Central Statistical Bureau.

In January – June 2010 foreign trade turnover value reached 4562.0 mln lats – 14.5% or 576.2 mln lats more than in the same period of previous year. Of which exports value comprised 2057.9 mln lats – more by 22.9% or 383.9 mln lats, but imports value comprised 2504.1 mln lats – more by 8.3% or 192.3 mln lats than a year ago.

In June 2010 the most significant share in Latvia’s export had export to the countries of European Union (72.3%), followed by the export to CIS countries – 16.9%. Main export partners were Lithuania (17.3% of total export), Estonia (13.0%), Russia (11.4%), Germany (9.2%) and Sweden (6.0%).

In June 2010 the most significant share in Latvia’s import had import from the countries of European Union (80.9%), followed by the import from CIS countries – 10.2%. Main import partners were Lithuania (16.9% of total import), Germany (13.9%), Poland (8.0%), Estonia (7.0%) and Finland (6.2%).
