In June 2009 the total foreign trade turnover at current prices reached 637.8 mln lats – more by 3.2% or 19.5 mln lats than a month before and less by 35.5% or 351.0 mln lats than in June last year, according to provisional data of Central Statistical Bureau.
In January – June 2009 foreign trade turnover value reached 3897.5 mln lats – less by 35.3% or 2126.6 mln lats than in the same period of the last year. Of which exports value comprised 1629.1 mln lats – less by 26.4% or 584.0 mln lats, but imports value comprised 2268.4 mln lats – less by 40.5% or 1542.6 mln lats than a year ago.

In June 2009 the most significant share in Latvia’s export had export to the countries of European Union (69.8%), followed by the export to CIS countries – 14.6%. Main export partners were Lithuania (17.4% of total export), Estonia (13.3%), Russia (9.5%), Germany (8.8%) and Sweden (5.5%).
In June 2009 the most significant share in Latvia’s import had import from the countries of European Union (76.6%), followed by the import from CIS countries – 12.9%. Main import partners were Lithuania (17.2% of total import), Germany (11.9%), Russia (8.2%), Poland (8.1%) and Estonia (7.0%).
