Foreign trade of Latvia in January 2011

In January 2011 the total foreign trade turnover at current prices reached 880.7 mln lats – less by 14.7% or 151.9 mln lats than a month before and more by 42.6% or 263.1 mln lats than in January 2010, according to provisional data of Central Statistical Bureau.

In January 2011 the most significant share in Latvia’s export had export to the countries of European Union (72.5%), followed by the export to CIS countries – 11.7%. Main export partners were Lithuania (16.4% of total export), Estonia (12.8%), Germany (8.9%), Russia (8.3%) and Sweden (7.5%).

In January 2011 the most significant share in Latvia’s import had import from the countries of European Union (71.8%), followed by the import from CIS countries – 20.1%. Main import partners were Lithuania (18.2% of total import), Russia (14.3%), Germany (10.6%), Poland (6.4%) and Estonia (5.9%).
