Foreign trade of Latvia in January 2010

In January 2010 the total foreign trade turnover at current prices comprised 615.7 mln lats – 12.2% or 85.6 mln lats less than a month before and 6.1% or 40.1 mln lats less compared to January 2009, according to provisional data of Central Statistical Bureau.

In January 2010 the most significant share in Latvia’s export had export to the countries of European Union (72.6%), followed by the export to CIS countries – 10.0%. Main export partners were Lithuania (15.1% of total export), Estonia (14.1%), Germany (9.0%), Sweden (8.3%) and Russia (6.6%).

In January 2010 the most significant share in Latvia’s import had import from the countries of European Union (67.1%), followed by the import from CIS countries – 24.4%. Main import partners were Russia (17.3% of total import), Lithuania (16.7%), Germany (9.2%), Poland (7.2%) and Estonia (6.7 %).
