Foreign trade of Latvia in February 2010

In February 2010 the total foreign trade turnover at current prices reached 690.2 mln lats – more by 13.3% or 81.0 mln lats than a month before and more by 5.8% or 38.0 mln lats than in February 2009, according to provisional data of Central Statistical Bureau.

In January – February 2010 foreign trade turnover value reached 1299.4 mln lats – less by 0.7% or 9.5 mln lats than in the same period of last year. Of which exports value comprised 580.3 mln lats – more by 11.0% or 57.4 mln lats, but imports value comprised 719.1 mln lats – less by 8.5% or 66.9 mln lats than a year ago.

In February 2010 the most significant share in Latvia’s export had export to the countries of European Union (69.2%), followed by the export to CIS countries – 12.9%. Main export partners were Lithuania (14.2% of total export), Estonia (13.0%), Russia (8.7%), Germany (8.3%) and Sweden (6.7%).

In February 2010 the most significant share in Latvia’s import had import from the countries of European Union (74.7%), followed by the import from CIS countries – 17.3%. Main import partners were Lithuania (16.7% of total import), Russia (13.0%), Germany (11.2%), Poland (7.7%) and Estonia (7.2%).
