Foreign trade of Latvia in April 2010

In April 2010 the total foreign trade turnover at current prices reached 799.5 mln lats – more by 0.6% or 4.8 mln lats than a month before and more by 21.2% or 139.6 mln lats than in April 2009, according to provisional data of Central Statistical Bureau.

In January – April 2010 foreign trade turnover value reached 2896.4 mln lats – more by 7.9% or 211.7 mln lats than in the same period of last year. Of which exports value comprised 1309.6 mln lats – more by 19.1% or 209.7 mln lats, but imports value comprised 1586.8 mln lats – more by 0.1% or 2.0 mln lats than a year ago

In April 2010 the most significant share in Latvia’s export had export to the countries of European Union (70.3%), followed by the export to CIS countries – 14.5%. Main export partners were Lithuania (15.0% of total export), Estonia (13.7%), Russia (10.0%), Germany (9.0%) and Sweden (6.9%).

In April 2010 the most significant share in Latvia’s import had import from the countries of European Union (76.1%), followed by the import from CIS countries – 15.8%. Main import partners were Lithuania (16.0% of total import), Germany (12.3%), Russia (9.7%), Estonia (7.8%) and Poland (7.2%).
