Domestic trade in January 2006

Compared to December 2005, retail trade turnover at constant prices in January 2006 decreased by 24.4% but disregarding the effect of purchases around seasonal sales it has nevertheless increased by 1.0%. Compared to January 2005, retail trade turnover at constant prices in the first month this year rose by 19.3%.

 Compared to December, retail trade turnover of enterprises the main activity of which is the sale of motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts thereof decreased in January 2006 by 2%.

Compared to January last year, retail trade turnover of motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts thereof in January this year increased by 71.6%, of which the increase in the sale of vehicles has increased by 50.9%.

Compared to December 2005 the turnover of automotive fuel retail trade enterprises in January 2006 increased by 10.1% but compared to the corresponding period of 2005 it has increased by 44.9%.

Compared to December 2005, the turnover of catering enterprises at constant prices in January 2006 decreased by 4.9% but compared to the corresponding period of 2005 it has increased by 17.4%.
