On changes of unit value of foreign trade in 2010
In 2010, compared to 2009, the average level of export unit value (UV) grew by 8.3% and the average level of import unit value rose by 7.3%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2009, the unit value in the 4th quarter of 2010 increased by 12.7 % for exported goods and by 12.0 % for imported goods. In its turn, compared to the previous quarter, UV of exported goods and of imported goods increased by 2.7 % and by 1.5 %, respectively.

Compared to the previous quarter, the average level of export unit value in the 4th quarter of 2010 was mostly promoted by the UV growth of base metals and articles of base metal, of textiles and textile articles, as well as of mineral products.
The UV increase of machinery and mechanical appliances; electrical equipment, of products of the chemical and allied industries, as well as of mineral products had the greatest impact on the average level of import unit value in the 4th quarter of 2010, compared to the 3rd quarter.
