On building permits granted in 4th quarter of 2009

During the 4th quarter of 2009 construction management authorities granted 401 building permits for the construction, capital repairs, reconstruction and restoration of single dwelling buildings with total floor space 82.5 thsd m2, and it is 41.2% less than in the 4th quarter of 2008, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau.

Out of the total number of building permits issued for the construction of single dwelling buildings 69% were granted for the new construction ( in the 4th quarter of 2008 - 65% of the total number of building permits granted).

The number of building permits granted for the construction of new summerhouses and weekend houses has decreased. During the 4th quarter of 2009 37 building permits were granted, and it is 68.4% less if compared to the corresponding period of 2008.

In the 4th quarter of 2009 45 building permits were granted for the construction of two or more dwelling buildings with total area of 19.2 thsd m2, of which 28 building permits were issued for new construction of two or more dwelling buildings with total area of 15.1 thsd m2.

In the 4th quarter of 2009 building permits were granted for the construction of 9 new hotels and other similar short-term accommodation buildings with a total area of 6.3 thsd m2, 4permits were issued for the construction of new office buildings, 8 permits for new wholesale and retail trade buildings and 4 for new traffic and communications buildings. 32 building permits were granted for the construction of new industrial production buildings and warehouses, but 7 building permits - for the construction of new mass-entertainment, educational or healthcare buildings.

30 building permits were issued for the construction of new highways, streets and roads, 12 permits for the construction of new main pipelines, communications and power transmission lines with a total length of 8.9 km, 160 for the construction of new local pipelines and cables with a total length of 75 km.

Compared to 2008, the number of building permits granted for the new construction of residential and non-residential buildings in 2009 has reduced. Number of building permits issued for the construction of new single dwelling buildings reduced by 46.8%, and number of permits granted for the construction of new two or more dwelling buildings - by 39.6%.
