In August retail trade turnover increased by 0.3%

Data of Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to July, the total retail trade turnover in August 2015 rose by 0.3%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Retail trade in food products rose by 0.2%, whereas turnover of non-food products – by 0.4%.

Compared to July, the total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account seasonality, in August fell by 0.8%. A year ago – in August 2014, compared to July 2014 – turnover dropped by 0.4%.

Compared to August 2014, the total retail trade turnover in August 2015 increased by 5.4%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprised 3.1%. In non-food commodity group there was an increase of 6.9%, of which in retail sale of automotive fuel – of 11.9%.

Total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 1.8% (not taking into account the calendar influence).

In eight months of this year, as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, retail trade turnover in total has grown by 5.8%, according to calendar adjusted data.Retailtrade in food products grew by 2.7%, retail trade of non-food products – by 7.9%.
