In August retail trade turnover has decreased by 0.4%, over a year - increased by 2.1%

Data of Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to July, total retail trade turnover in August 2013 dropped by 0.4%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Retail trade in food products has remained the same, whereas of non-food products reduced by 0.6%.

In comparison with July, total retail trade turnover at current prices, not considering the seasonality, in August of this year has grown by 1.1%. A year ago – in August 2012, compared to July, turnover rose by 4.9%.

Compared to August of the previous year, total retail trade turnover in August increased by 2.1%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprised 4.4%, but in non-food commodity group – 0.7%, of which in retail sale of automotive fuel decrease of 3.3%.

In comparison with August of the previous year, total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 1.0% (not taking into account the calendar influence).

During the period of time from January to August, as compared to the same period of the previous year, total retail trade turnover has grown by 3.9%, according to calendar adjusted data.
