In August retail trade experienced annual increase of 3.9%

Data of Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to July, the total retail trade turnoverin August 2014 dropped by 0.2%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Retail trade in food products reduced by 0.9%, whereas of non-food products - rose by 0.3%.

Compared to July, the total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account seasonality, in August fell by 0.1%.

Compared to August 2013, the total retail trade turnover in August 2014 increased by 3.9%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprised 3.4%. In non-food commodity group there was a 4.2% increase, of which in retail sale of automotive fuel – 4.8%.

In comparison with August of the previous year, total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 2.2% (not taking into account the calendar influence).

In first eight months, as compared to first eight months of the previous year, retail trade turnover in total has grown by 3.8%, according to calendar adjusted data. Rise in food commodity group comprised 4.5%, but retail trade in non-food products has grown by 3.3%.
