In August producer prices in industry have grown by 0.2%

Compared to July, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industryin August 2013 increased by 0.2%, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. The producer prices of products sold on the domestic market rose by 0.1%, whereas prices of exported products - by 0.3%. Major price increases were observed in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 1.4%) and manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (of 9.7%). Price fall in manufacture of food products (by 0.6%) had the greatest downward impact.

In August 2013, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industry, compared to August of previous year, increased by 1.2%. The rise in prices of products sold on the domestic market comprised 0.4%, but prices of exported products rose by 2.0%. Major price increases were observed in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood, except furniture (by 4.0%) and in the manufacture of food products (by 3.0%). Reduction of prices in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (by 14.2%) and in waste collection, treatment and disposal activities; materials recovery (by 6.5%) had the biggest downward impact on the producer prices.
