In April retail trade turnover reduced by 2.0%

Data of Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to March, total retail trade turnover in April 2013 dropped by 2.0%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Retail trade in food products decreased by 3.9%, whereas of non-food products – by 0.8%.

In comparison with March, total retail trade turnover at current prices, not considering the seasonality, in April of this year reduced by 0.4%. A year ago – in April 2012, compared to March, turnover decreased by 0.9%.

Compared to April 2012, total retail trade turnover in April of this year increased by 6.2%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprised 2.8%, while retail trade in non-food products increased by 8.4%, of which retail sale of automotive fuel - by 8.8 %.

In comparison with April of the previous year, total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 6.5% (not taking into account the calendar influence).

In first four months, as compared to first four months of the previous year, total retail trade turnover has grown by 6.6%, according to calendar adjusted data. Rise in food commodity group increased 4.7%, but retail trade in non-food products grew by 7.9%.
