In 2014 producer prices in agriculture dropped by 8.2%

Data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that in 2014 as compared to 2013 producer prices in agriculture decreased by 8.2%.

Producer prices of crop products dropped by 10.6%, which was affected by decline in purchase prices of grain – of 16.5% and of rape – of 16.0%. The average purchase prices of grain decreased from EUR 177.30 in 2013 to EUR 148.13 in 2014; of which purchase prices of wheat dropped by 15.3%, of rye - by 21.9%, and of barley – by 19.6%.

In 2014 producer prices of livestock products witnessed a decrease of 5.9%, as compared to the previous year. It was due to decline of the average purchase prices of the main livestock products: purchase prices of beef dropped by 14.7%, of pork - by 10.8%, of milk - by 4.8%, and of eggs - by 2.9%. In turn the average purchase price of poultry meat grew by 2.9%, and of mutton and goat meat - by 9.9%.
