On manufacturing turnover in June 2009

Data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) witness that in June 2009 compared to May 2009 manufacturing turnover1 at current prices (according to seasonally adjusted data2) has increased by 2.5%, of which in domestic market - by 2.1% and in exports - by 3.1%.

Major turnover increase was in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (repair and maintenance of ships and boats, repair of fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, installation of industrial machinery and equipment) – by 36.5%, of which in domestic market by 40.5% (82% of total turnover).Turnover of manufacture of wood and products of wood, except furniture has increased by 7.8%, of which exports - by 9.2% (74% of total sector’s turnover).Turnover of manufacture of motor vehicles parts, trailers and semi-trailers grew by 7.5%, of which exports – by 7.6% (93% of turnover).

Major turnover drops were in manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment – by 26.7%, of which in domestic market – by 46.4% (turnover in domestic market – 20% of total sector’s turnover), in exports – by 9.2%. Turnover of manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products has decreased by 7%, of which exports - by 7% (90% of sector’s turnover is exports). In the manufacture of furniture turnover drop comprised 4.8%, of which exports reduced by 7.2% (72% of turnover is exports).

In June 2009 compared to June 2008 industrial turnover in manufacturing (according to working day adjusted data) decreased by 28.3%, of which in domestic market – by 29.9% and in exports – by 25.8%. Major turnover drops were in the manufacture of electrical equipment – by 55% (decrease in domestic market – by 65.8%, in exports – by 46.6%), in the manufacture of machinery and equipment – by 51.2% (decrease in domestic market – by 67.7%, in exports – by 42.8%), in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products – by 43.8% (decrease in domestic market – by 48.2%, in exports – by 31.3%).

Turnover increase was in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (repair and maintenance of ships and boats, repair of fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, installation of industrial machinery and equipment) – by 43.2%.

In the 2nd quarter of 2009 compared to the 1st quarter of 2009 manufacturing turnover, according to seasonally adjusted data, decreased by 1.6%, of which in domestic market – by 2% and in exports – by 1%.

In the 2nd quarter of 2009 compared to the same quarter of previous year industrial turnover in manufacturing (according to working day adjusted data) decreased by 29%, of which in domestic market – by 30.1% and in exports – by 27.4%.

In January – June 2009

compared to the same period of previous year manufacturing turnover decreased by 29%, of which in domestic market – by 30.6% and in exports – by 26.5%.
