Compared to June, in July 2017 the level of producer prices in Latvian industry rose by 0.4 %. The prices of products sold on the domestic market increased by 0.5 %, whereas the prices of exported products grew by 0.3 %.

Since the 2nd quarter of 2016 the employment rate has increased by 0.8 percentage points. In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Latvian employment rate (62.6 %) was the highest recorded since the 2nd quarter of 2008 (63.1 %).

In the 2nd quarter of 2017 the Latvian unemployment rate constituted 8.9 %. Compared to the previous quarter, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.5 percentage points, whereas, compared to the same period of the year before – by 0.6 percentage points.

In June 2017 Latvian foreign trade turnover amounted to EUR 2.15 bln, which at current prices was 19.2 % more than in June 2016, of which the exports and imports values of goods were 12.2 % and 25.1 % higher, respectively.

During the year (in July 2017, compared to July 2016) the average level of consumer prices increased by 2.6 %. Prices of goods grew by 2.6 % and prices of services by 2.9 %.
