in October 2017 Latvian foreign trade turnover amounted to EUR 2.31 billion, which at current prices was 10.3 % more than in October 2016, of which the exports value of goods was 9.7 % and imports value of goods was 10.9 % higher.

During the year (in November 2017, compared to November 2016) the average level of consumer prices rose by 2.7 %. Prices of goods grew by 2.7 % and prices of services by 2.9 %.

Compared to the nine months of 2016, during the nine months of 2017 the volume of freights carried by land and pipelines increased by 2.3 million tonnes or 2.7 % and freight turnover by 3 %.

Compared to October 2016, in October 2017 total retail trade turnover rose by 4.5 %. Turnover of retail trade in food products increased by 4.5 %, turnover of retail trade in non-food products, except for retail sale of automotive fuel, grew by 6.3 %, whereas turnover of retail sale of automotive fuel fell by 1.8 %.
