E. FOREIGN TRADE
Within the context of foreign trade statistics, routine revisions of statistical data concern:
- revision of the published data receiving additional or revised information from respondents.
- Example: Intrastat survey data on commodity import and export are revised, entering previously timely not submitted reports and receiving information from respondents upon incorrectly provided data.
Exceptional data revisions can be made:
- till July of the following reporting year, in the event major amendments or additions are introduced to monthly data of any reporting period;
- after July of the following reporting year – only in emergency cases, when the volume of changes could essentially affect the total volume and structure of foreign trade statistical data.
