On changes of unit value of foreign trade in the 2nd quarter of 2009

Compared to the same period of 2008, the unit value (UV) in the 2nd quarter of 2009 decreased by 10.8% for exported goods, but for imported goods - by 6.8%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau. In its turn, compared to the previous quarter, unit value of exported goods reduced by 4.0%, but of imported goods - by 4.1%.

Compared to the previous quarter, the average level of export unit value in the 2nd quarter of 2009 was mostly lowered by the UV decrease of wood and wood products, of base metals and articles of base metals, of textiles and textile articles, as well as of prepared foodstuffs.

Compared to the previous quarter, the greatest impact on the average level of import unit value in the 2nd quarter of 2009 had the UV decrease of transport vehicles, base metals and articles of base metals, as well as of textiles and textile articles. The largest increasing impact had the UV growth on goods from section “Miscellaneous manufactured articles” due to changes of structure of imported goods.
